A very happy Father’s Day to all the dads reading this! This little poem is in honor of my father, father-in-law, and husband who model God’s love as a Father to me.

For those who are without a precious earthly daddy today or those who’ve never known the love of an earthly daddy who loves Jesus with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength, please know I am praying specifically for you today. May you know the tender embrace of our Heavenly Father in quiet moments with Scripture even now.

“For sure and for certain”

Remember always this

God calls you His

He loves you here today

As He will every day

Know for sure and for certain

In Jesus, God’s love is spoken

He is strength for the weary

And hope for us to receive

God doesn’t make us all the same

Yet Jesus is the answer for all our shame

Yes, there will be sorrow, tears, pain

But each morning, new mercies to claim

Jesus is the yes and amen

To every promise God has given

Jesus is the Truth, Life, and Way

Who tells us to come to Him and stay

God knows what’s ahead

Mountains and valleys yet to tread

His joy will be our strength

For every trial in depth and length

Even the no answers God to us gives

Rich with the humility God has us to live

All are gifts from His Hand

All are chosen obedience to His plans

Hope given beyond measure

Joy received as glorious treasure

Yet the greatest of these is love

That love straight from our God above

Please, God, let your truth set me free

And help me in my unbelief

To know Your love as for sure and for certain

To wait for the day You open heaven’s curtain

”For sure and for certain” is a common Amish phrase emphasizing one’s full agreement with an idea. In other words, this phrase indicates one’s heart is firmly fixed on a part of life just said or seen, heard or held, experienced or explored – be it a good dessert or darling baby, truth spoken or beautiful sunset, music played or memories revisited.

Thank you, dear readers, for your continued support of these little poems given from my heart to God and hopefully, then, onwards to your heart, too.
