here’s a prayer from my head and heart which I hope will encourage your heart and head today, too…

Dear Father-God,

May these words of my mouth and meditations of my heart be acceptable to You today.

Thank You for all You have spared me from, saved me for, sent me to, and stored up for me.

Thank You for all the relationships You’ve held me from and the relationships You’ve held me in.

Thank You for teaching me truth in the inmost parts and tenacity in taking You at Your Word.

Thank You for all You’ve provided for, protected from, and prospered in me.

Thank You for faith that holds and fears that leave.

Thank You for joy that comes and Jesus Who remains.

Thank You for hope that helps and a heart set to know You.

Thank You for the once-for-all and once-forever of:

          redemption and righteousness,

          repentance and restoration,

          renewal and revelation.

Thank You for all that has been lost, left behind, or lingers only in cherished memories.

Thank You for knowing every tear, every sigh, every thought, every groan, and every word.

Thank You for helping me love You with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength. Thank You for helping me love my neighbor as myself.

In the Strong Name of Jesus,

Amen.

This prayer came just in time! I believe this is the prayer that David read aloud to us at SS a couple of weeks ago. It meant so much to me because it expressed so much of what I want to thank God for in the midst of praying earnestly for some heavy situations in our extended family’s lives and in the lives of friends. I was planning to send David an email today, requesting him to forward it. Thank you!!!!

I’m reminded of a song we used to sing in church “an on-time God” – thanks for making my day by sharing your thoughts about this prayer with me today!
