musings from a soil scientist who dearly loves Jesus and the amazing world under her feet

a few thoughts

Dear Friends,

I scribbled these thoughts on a quick Facebook post this morning. But then, I thought you might like to read them too. May the truths in these verses give you fresh joy and courage this morning!

John 10:29 PHILLIPS “My Father, Who has given them to me, is greater than all. And no one can tear anything out of the Father’s Hand.”

With each new diagnosis, symptom, or procedure, the truth of that verse becomes plainer, closer, and sweeter to my heart, mind, and soul. I think Job, Paul, Stephen, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego deep down knew this truth. They sure lived as if they did! Their stand-up-straight, feet-planted, eyes-up, positioned-for-whatever-comes lives defeated fear and displayed Father-God. They could hold hard to God because they knew they were forever held by Him. They knew that each day was another opportunity for hope to grow a little deeper in the soil of their souls. And that’s exactly how I want to live this day and every day!

Hebrews 6:19a HCSB “We have this hope as an anchor for our lives, safe and secure.
