as promised, here’s the rest of my (short) list of favorite verses – I hope you’ve been reading your Bible this week and found some new (or rediscovered some old) favorite verses to add to your list and life for today and days to come!
1 Corinthians 1:27-29 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things – and the things that are not – to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.
- Philippians 1:23-25 I am torn between the two; I desire to depart and be with Christ which is better by far but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith
- Psalm 20:7-8 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. They are brought to their knees and fall but we rise up and stand firm.
- Romans 12:1-2 Therefore I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing, and perfect will.
- Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
As with last week, please comment below with at least one of your favorite Bible verses so we all can be encouraged in the reading of them from the truth in them. Keep on reading and finding new favorites – be sure and share them in some way with others in your life so they can be strengthened also!
