Jude v. 24 (Phillips) Now to him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glory without fault and with unspeakable joy, to the only God, our Saviour, be glory and majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before time was, now, and in all ages to come, Amen.
Matthew 10:29 (AMPC) Are not two little sparrows sold for a penny? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father’s leave (consent) and notice.
God is always at work to keep things from falling, like sparrows and me. God is always at work to make sure things are falling, like rain and rocks. And not just here in the fall time of the year…
From temperatures and leaves in fall to electrons in photosynthetic processes in spring. From snow in winter to stars in summer. He doesn’t just allow each to fall; He plans and provides for each to start and end. Nothing overlooked; nothing out-of-control. Even if circumstances might seem like my life is in free-fall, I can rest in knowing that each of us, all of us are held in the palm of His Hand at all times and in all ways.
Some might try and think this truth away with “if a tree falls in the forest alone, does it make a sound?” or the like. But we know the truth: that tree is never alone – God is there, just as He is here with me, and with you. All the time and in all ways.
He knows.
He cares.
He provides.
Scripture tells me there’s nowhere I can go outside of His presence and nothing is impossible for Him (see Psalm 139:7 and Luke 1:37, respectively). So no matter what happens He has me firmly held in the place He has appointed for me (see Isaiah 49:16). Thus, no matter if I feel like the world is falling all around me, I can rest in the truth that I am kept in and on Christ, Who doesn’t change or fall away (see Hebrews 13:8).
Even the hairs on my head don’t fall without His knowledge and power (see Matthew 10:30), no matter what I’ve done or may do. For neither His love nor grace fall or fail, no matter the season. And His mercies fall new on me each and every morning (see Lamentations 3:22-23).
Even if my love falls or fades away, His doesn’t. For He is love and He is God, for all seasons, places, and people (see 1 John 4). Nothing falls without His Presence and purpose; nothing is held against falling without His power and plan. There aren’t any forgotten sparrows, snowflakes, stars, or somebodies.
He knows.
He cares.
He provides.
He provides for electrons and emotions alike. For when my tears fall, He holds them and me close in the pain there and then and onwards for all eternity (see Psalm 56:8). Just like He’s always done for all of us. And always will, no matter how many tears may fall from my eyes or yours…
Jude v. 24 (NLV) There is One Who can keep you from falling and can bring you before Himself free from all sin. He can give you great joy as you stand before Him in His shining-greatness.
If God has brought someone to mind in need of knowing that he or she is held close by Almighty God, please share that verse and this blog with him or her today. God might be wanting to use you to be the one who reaches out to him or her to show him or her that now is always the right time to reach out to God, the One Who will never fade, fail, or fall away from lavishing love on all.
