If you’re like me today, you could use some verses that hearten in their truth and help in their perspective. Truly comforting. And probably, we both have friends that need to hear these verses today – so, please take a minute and share at least one or two of these verses with others in need of the hope that only God can give through the reading of His Word.
Psalm 9:9-10
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know Your Name will trust in You, for You, O Lord, have never forsaken those who trust in You.
Psalm 10:17-18
You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted; You encourage them, and You listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.
Psalm 18:2-6 and 30
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in Whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the Lord, Who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies. The cords of death entangled me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me. The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice; my cry came before Him, into His ears.
As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him.
Proverbs 2:7-8
He holds victory in store for the upright, He is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for He guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones.
Isaiah 40:11 and 28-31
He tends His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those who have young.
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.
Did you notice that God does all of the doing in these verses? No precursors or prerequisites, no entrance fees or exit strategies – He is here with and for us just like He’s always been. And always will be.
Nothing changes in God, but with Him, everything in my life can change.
Psalm 51:10
God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
