Face down in the mud

Psalm 3:3

AMP But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head

Leviticus 26: 13

CEB I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt’s land—who brought you out from being Egypt’s slaves. I broke your bonds and made you stand up straight

Dear friend,

Are you in a place where all you see is soil because you’re face down in the mud from overwhelming life circumstances? Circumstances that have not just brought you to your knees but left you empty and not knowing or seeing a way out or up. If so, then you’re in just the right place for embracing the beauty and truth in those verses from Psalm and Leviticus…

God isn’t waiting for you to take that next step forward. He’s here as your shield and to lift your head. He’s already broken the chains of your past, present, and future. He’s the giver of strength and the taker of suffering.

God doesn’t see you as condemned or confused. He’s your glory and the bringer-out from sin and shame’s slavery. His great deep and wide love for you is bigger and stronger than all that has you by the throat. He is here to gently take hold of you, lift your head, and make you stand straight so you can look death, denial, defeat, and destruction straight in the eye and say nothing is impossible for [my]God (see Luke 1:37).

Please hear me, friend, if God can do it for me, He can and will do it for you. Today.

He’s waiting for you to ask.

Love,

Beth

Dear Father God,

My friend needs You right now. Please speak to him or her now with Your good peace that passes all understanding which can guard hearts and minds that You tell us about in Philippians 4:6-7. Please help her and him to know Your truth and be set free by it.

In the strong Name of Jesus,

Amen.

If you’re like me and love to read multiple versions of a verse for getting an even fuller picture, here’s a couple more to savor:

Psalm 3:3

EXB But, Lord, you are my shield [protector], my ·wonderful God [glory] who ·gives me courage [lifts up my head].

MSG But you, God, shield me on all sides; You ground my feet, you lift my head high

Leviticus 26:13

GNT I, the Lord your God, brought you out of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves. I broke the power that held you down and I let you walk with your head held high.

NIV I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians; I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk with heads held high
