As I was praying this morning for many with so many whose needs I know (and those needs only known by God), I felt impressed to share with you a bit of the prayer I offered up to our Good God for my students and their families and for you and your families today…

Dear Father God,

Thank you for these people whom I know and those I may never know. Thank You that You know every single bit about every single one of them. Thank You that You love them with Your hesed love which You give in covenant to each and every one of all of us. Thank You that You’ve got a good purpose for good for our lives, our families, our churches, our communities, our nations, our world. Thank You that You tell us that there’s always room for more to come and to stay and to find rest here with You.

Please Lord, please bless my friends with the resolve and resiliency to keep trusting You when all seems dark or at an end.

Please grace them with the faith and fortitude to keep standing firm when the hard is far more than they can bear.

Please favor them with the calm and confidence to know You have a plan for good in all of this.

Please bless them with the courage and compassion to stop and listen for Your still small voice today.

Please grace them with the steadfastness and surety to believe You will provide what’s needed when it’s needed.

Please help them to hope and hold fast to the truth that Your light will never be overcome by the darkness.

And please give all of us a clean heart and a willing spirit as You renew in us the joy of Your salvation.

We are weary and worn so thin. But we know You are with us, always.

Hallelujah! You never tire or turn away, sleep or slumber, forget or fail to forgive.

in the strong Name of Jesus,

Amen.

Lord, in the morning you hear my voice. In the morning I lay it all out before you. Then I wait expectantly. (Psalm 5:3 CEB)
