Since September 1 is the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, I thought I’d share a short prayer I wrote in much gratitude for our Creator and the beauty of His creation.

Dear Creator God,

Thank You for all the beauty You’ve put in our daily lives from the soil under our feet to the stars over our heads. Thank You that You keep all Your promises all the time in all ways to all of us. Thank You that You use the change in seasons as reminders of Your faithfulness to us.

Thank You that You bless us each day with mercies made new every morning and steadfast love that satisfies even the deepest particle of the soil of our souls. Thank You for the grace that helps us know we are loved and forgiven and called the apple of Your eye.

Thank You that You remember we are but dust and that You have made as we are for Your glory. Please help me be a faithful caretaker of Your creation with all parts of my life. Please help me to declare Your truth in love and demonstrate Your grace in all ways. Please help me to know and rest in the truth that You alone are the Almighty King of all creation.

in the strong and lasting Name of Jesus,

Amen.
